Your gift in support of TAF Academy's students will help Technology Access Foundation (TAF) to continue to provide free educational opportunities for underserved children in Seattle.TAF is a public 6-12 grade school that prepares underserved children to graduate from high school on-time and college-ready to pursue degrees in STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).

Why this campaign?

1. TAF is an expert in STEM trainings.

2. They leverage donations by partnering with public schools.

3. TAF is focused on experiential learning and internships to maximize college success.

Why this project?

Only about one-third of Washington 8th graders score "Proficient" or better on national math and science tests. That number falls below 25% for minority children. Technology Access Foundation believes that all students are natural learners, but without a strong educational foundation and a belief that learning can be fun, many students fall behind by 8th grade. Early interventions that provide access to educational opportunities and technology tools help children develop knowledge, confidence and life skills to increase graduation rates and encourage them to seek higher educational opportunities.

The Impact

This program has served over 660 elementary students in 20 public schools in the past three years and improved math and science achievement in their schools. Your gift of $30 will provide one set of headphones to use in a Techstart class and will help reduce the digital divide among students in Washington state.
